Mr Tsang is an US corporate, commercial and tax lawyer with experience in Hongkong, San Diego and Texas. MR David Wells, managing director of Campbell Soup Asia Ltd, has been given the additional title of regional vice-president Asia by the Campbell Soup Co.

Mr Wells was appointed managing director of Campbell Soup Asia in 1991.

He joined Campbell in 1979 and has served in various marketing and sales management positions in Australia and Canada. CANADIAN Imperial Bank of Commerce (CIBC), based in Hongkong, has announced the recent appointments of Mr Albert Wang to regional manager, trust and investment services, and Ms Georgeanna Wong to manager, trust services.

Mr Wang will be responsible for marketing CIBC's trust services throughout the Asia-Pacific.

Ms Wong, an associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, will carry out the same function on a local basis. THE Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has announced the appointment of Mr Kurt Silver as group development manager.

Mr Silver will be responsible for assisting the managing director to seek and develop new opportunities for the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. ASSURANCES Generales De France (HK) Ltd has announced the appointment of Mr William Ng as underwriting manager and Ms Joanna Fu as claims manager.

Mr Ng has recently returned from Canada where he had been an insurance broker for three years; for the previous 16 years he was an underwriter with Taikoo Royal and Tugu Insurance in Hongkong.

Ms Fu started her insurance career with Prudential before joining AGF in 1986 as assistant claims manager. GRANT Thornton Byrne has recently appointed Mr John Currie and Mr Henry Lam as tax managers.

Mr Currie is an Australian chartered accountant and solicitor. He has extensive experience in international tax planning with particular emphasis on Australia and Southeast Asia.

Mr Lam is a Canadian chartered accountant who specialises in tax planning for Canadian investments and immigrants. CITIBANK has announced the appointments of Mr Clarence T'ao and Mr Leonard Wei as directors of syndication and distribution for Citicorp International Ltd.

Mr Wei will primarily be involved in transactions for Hongkong, China and regional borrowers.

Mr T'ao will be involved in arranging syndication for borrowers in the Asian-Pacific region including Hongkong. REUTERS has announced the appointment of Mr Tan Wee-seng to the newly created position of manager, projects analysis and planning, Reuters Asia. Mr Tan, who will be based in Hongkong, will be responsible for evaluating the financial viability of new initiatives leading to the expansion, or improved efficiency, of business operations in Asia.

He will report to Mr Anthony Williams, deputy managing director, Reuters Asia.
